• U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Services; Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Headquarters; Soldotna,
AK. 2002-2003: Project management, design, regulatory interface and installation oversight. To the best of my
knowledge, it was the first working Class "A" Public Water System for Arsenic removal system in the State of
Alaska (having been through formal Plan Review and receiving Certificate to Construct). Continuous duty water
conditioners and ferric oxide media filters were configured along with controls and sampling ports.

• Municipality of Anchorage; Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU); Anchorage, AK. 2003: Sanitary
Surveys of all utility wells in the municipality. Girdwood, Ship Creek and Eklutna water treatment plants were also
inspected. Project manager, inspection, regulatory interface and oversight. AWWU is the largest water treatment
utility in the State of Alaska.

• Whitestone Logging Camp; Afognak Island, AK. 2003-2004: New Class "A" Public Water System to meet
current Surface Water Treatment Rules by injecting Ozone to meet initial oxidative demand; thereby avoiding the
formation of disinfection by-products. Project management, design and regulatory interface. Flocculation, filtration
and sodium hypo-chlorite injection will be practiced along with pH adjustment in an automated configuration.
Severe organic and inorganic contaminates are present. The drinking water system serves up to 100 residents.

• Peak Oilfield Services; Prudhoe Bay, AK. 2001-2005: "Ice Road Camp" modules, Class "B" Public Surface Water
System, Potable Water Holding Tank, Grey water treatment plant design and Extended Aeration Wastewater
Treatment were fabricated with coordinated approval of construction and as-built documentation. All modules
were skid mounted and arctic rated. Regulatory interface with EPA and ADEC as to obtain Federal and State
approval to operate and environmental discharge permits.

•Bristol Bay Housing Authority; Southwest Elders Home; Naknek, AK. 2002-2003: Class "C" Public Water System.
Ground Water Under the Direct Influence of Surface Water GWUDISW Determination: Inorganic analysis
consisted of Cation/Anion comparison using the Piper Tri-Linear Graph to delineate Relative Percentage Difference
of suspect well versus nearby surface water. Klebsiella pneumonia was speciated. Bag and cartridge filtration
train was specified in twin parallel configuration and a sodium hypo-chlorite injection system was installed.

• CATCO/Crowley All Terrain Corporation; Prudhoe Bay, AK. 2002-2004 "Canning River Camp" and "Mobile Camp".
Engineered portable arctic modules for Class "B" Public Surface Water Treatment System, Potable Water and
Greywater Treatment System. Services include; project management, operator training, consultation, regulatory
interface, installation oversight, environmental discharge permits, Approvals to Construct/Operate and as-built
documentation.

matters. Ozologics oversees testing, training and grant issues for the school district. Village schools include; Portage
Creek, New Stuyahok, Ekwok, Manokotak, Togiak, Twin Hills, Koliganek, Clark's Point and Aleknagik.

• SWRSD; Aleknagik School; Class "A" Public Water System. Ground Water Under the Direct Influence of Surface
Water GWUDISW Determination: Inorganic analysis consisted of Cation/Anion comparison using the Piper Tri-
Linear Graph to delineate Relative Percentage Difference of suspect well versus nearby surface water. Organic
analysis consisted of Microscopic Particulate Analysis investigation. Ozone injection systems, backwashing multi-
media filter, absolute cartridge filtration, were specified to remove Iron and Manganese while addressing a
reoccurring Coliform presence. Aeromonas Hydrophila was challenged as a regulated contaminate. Construction
included burial of HDPE pipe, new boilers and well abandonment. Sanitary Survey, Operator Training, Sampling.

• SWRSD; Ekwok School; Originally, this Class "A" Public Water System contained high levels of iron and
manganese. An automatic ozone injection system to remove the iron and manganese as well as reduce the color.
The pH was adjusted for corrosion prevention with a passive up-flow calcium carbonate contact tank. Carbon
filtration was specified for organics, taste and odor. A storage tank was specified to address a low production well.
Post sodium hypo-chlorite was instituted for residual disinfection. Sanitary Survey, Operator Training, Sampling.

• SWRSD; Manokotak School; Class "A" Public Water System corrosion project. Sanitary Survey, low production
well and corrosion. Lead and Copper sampling was performed. Corrosivity was negated by sodium hydroxide
injection followed by filtration. Sanitary Survey, Operator Training and Sampling.

• SWRSD; Togiak School; New Class "A" Public Water System. Consultation, interpretation, management, Operator
training, shock disinfection of well and water distribution system, Lead and Copper testing were performed.

• Forest Oil Corporation; Osprey Platform; Cook Inlet, AK. 2002: Whole Effluent Toxicity Test for EPA Federal Deck
Drainage Discharge Permit. This project involved logistical coordination and regulatory interface. The wastewater
discharge permit is one of the most restrictive in the State. Ozone disinfection was used to meet EPA discharge
standards. Don Davis has also provided sanitary consultation on multiple levels; grey water, seawater, permitting,
operator training, sampling and drinking water.

• Forest Oil Corporation; Kustatan "Tom Cat Pad"; Trading Bay, AK. 2002: Class "B" Public Water System.

My professional expertise is small treatment systems theory, design and application. Water and wastewater
treatment in Alaska can be diverse and remote. I have had the opportunity to serve clients in all corners of the
State. The discipline is constantly expanding. Never a day goes by without learning something new. I have always
enjoyed a "hands on" approach to life. Theory is where we begin, but applying that knowledge in Alaska has a way
of taking one down unique paths. Working in the "bush" is normal. Sometimes I sleep on the floor, eat with the
family and hitch rides from the neighbors. I have had many triumphs and a few mistakes along the way. After
many years of application, I call myself a water and wastewater treatment professional. I can help, if only to get
you pointed in the right direction. Make us your first and sometimes last telephone call.
